This week’s lecture covered the concept of dots per inch (DPI), and pixels per inch (PPI).
DPI measures the number of individual dots of ink that a printer can produce within a one inch space. I learned from the lecture that the higher the DPI the clearer and more detailed the print out will become.
PPI represents the number of pixels per inch whilst talking about photo images. The dot size can vary on the photo prints. It is most appropriately used to scale existing digital images to a specified print size.
This week’s tutorial we covered how to place an image onto a text so it appears as the colour of the text. We then saved it to the same file in which the webpage that was linked in blackboard. This webpage was already edited with HTML. When the webpage was loaded the text that I created in Photoshop appeared in the webpage.
We then went onto do the same for logo 2, but with logo 2 we created the background to match the webpage. We then moved onto buttons and the blue glass effect. We then experimented with different button shapes.
This week i found the lecture to be hard to concerntrate in. This i find is due to the topic, its quite a dry topic, and i find that it was hard to adjust to the concept of it.
